Baptism
We offer baptism for people of all ages. Prior to the baptism of an infant or child, we hold a one-session class for the parents. This class reviews what the Bible teaches about baptism and the special roles that adults have in the formation of a young person’s faith. Camp Omega
Young people and families from Messiah Lutheran Church have been attending camps at Camp Omega for the past 20 years. Located nearby in Waterville, Camp Omega is an LCMS affiliated organization. The camp offers year-round opportunities for children ages 5 and up and other family members to grow as Christians while surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. Days are filled with Bible study, singing, swimming, crafts, games & sports, and campfire devotions. For more information visit www.campomega.org.
Confirmation
Confirmation prepares God’s children to make a life-long commitment to Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Classes meet Wednesdays at 6:00PM. Confirmation is for youth in grades 6 to 8.
Cradle Roll
Parents of children baptized at Messiah receive regular mailings from the Messiah Cradle Roll. Each mailing provides practical age-appropriate hints about helping your child grow in faith in Jesus.
Early Childhood Connections
Messiah not only offers a wonderful preschool but also a number of other opportunities for young children and their parents to grow in Jesus.
Junior Youth (Grades 6-8)
Junior Youth Bible class meets in Luther Hall sunday mornings at 9:45. The current curriculum has a web based section. If you have been to Bible class and have your pass word you may enter the site here- mygrapple.com
Kingdom Kids
This group is for kids in grades 1 through 5. They meet Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:00pm. The group studies Bible stories then uses various activites to understand the story in a different way. Activites may include baking, art, or service projects. One of the main things we will be doing is using puppetry to tell the Bible stories we have studied. We will be creating puppets and putting together a presentation that we will share in church and at a family night. We will learn how to work with puppets- such as how to make the mouth move and other ways to bring the puppets to life. We will also design backdrops to go with the presentation. Nursery
The Littlest Lambs program is Sunday mornings from 8:15-12:00. We provide an early childhood educational component for children birth through 3.
Summer Ministries
Each summer Messiah offers two or more summer activities for children. Summer Sunday School is also offered at 9:45AM in room 110.
Sunday Children’s Messages
Congregation members present God’s message, using objects and words children know and understand, during the 8:30AM and 11:00AM worship service.
Sunday School
Sunday School is held weekly during the school year during our Education Hour, 9:45-10:45am. Classes are offered for 3 year-olds through 5th graders. Click on the Sunday School title for more details.
