OUR MISSION

We want to root in our children an unshakable faith.
We do this by Teaching the Word, Living the Word,
Defending the Word and Standing on the Word.

OUR MISSION SCRIPTURE VERSE
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way:  bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:9-12

We strive to live out our mission in a variety of concrete ways.  Our teachers pray weekly for the students in their class.  They carefully and prayerfully prepare the lesson, which is rooted in the Bible and taught in a way that is meaningful to the children.  We search for truths to share that will help the children have confidence in the historical reality of the Bible so they can defend their beliefs both as a "believer" and a "thinker."  The Sunday School staff and volunteers have professed their own faith and commit to spending daily time in Bible study, so we can all be living examples of the faith that we teach.  We believe we are partners with parents in the spiritual formation of their children, and strive to support and work alongside parents in this role.

Curriculum

Children age 3 through first grade will be using the "Hands On" curriculum this year.  Hands On gives the children opportunities to experience God's word through parables, movement and tactile experiences.
Children in second through fifth grade will be taking "Holyland Journeys" to explore the Bible.  The kids are put into groups with an adult "Shepherd" guiding them each Sunday for three weeks to a different classroom to experience a story of the Bible in a different way.  Learning may take place through drama, cooking, music, science, arts and crafts or research.  Holyland Journeys is in its third year and has been well-received by both the students and teachers!
